How a sleeping agent is billed

Three simple rules — and not a single hidden clause. We walk through every case with examples below.

While the agent sleeps

Sleep is billed post-paid: the first $0.10 applies only 24 hours after the agent falls asleep, then once for every full day of inactivity. Slept for less than a day — you pay nothing for sleep.

When the agent wakes up

If the daily fee has not yet been charged for the current day, we charge $1 for the awake day immediately upon wake-up.

Once per day

No double charges

The daily fee is charged at most once per calendar day. If the $1 for that day has already been charged — at wake-up or later — there is nothing more to pay.

An active agent consumes on average about 100M tokens per month. Input caching significantly lowers the cost: repeated context (agent memory, instructions, history) is billed at the "Input, cached" rate.

How is the agent billed?

The subscription fee — $1 per day — is charged a day ahead: when the agent is activated, when it wakes from sleep mode (if the fee has not yet been charged for that day), and then every 24 hours. Tokens are billed separately, post-paid — only for the tokens actually spent.

When exactly is the sleep fee charged?

The sleep fee — $0.10 for every full 24 hours of inactivity — is charged post-paid: the first charge comes 24 hours after the agent falls asleep, then every 24 hours. If the agent slept for less than a day, you pay nothing for sleep at all.

What happens when the agent wakes up?

Does the token price depend on the model?

Yes. The cost depends on the model and the request type: cached input (repeated context), uncached input (new context) and output. Current prices are in the "Token pricing" section. The model list keeps growing.

Does anything change for regular (active) agents?

No. All the rules described here apply only to sleep mode. For regular agents everything stays as it was: $1 per day of operation, charged a day ahead, plus tokens billed as used.
